Terms of service | pestcite

These terms are between Helios One Oy ("we") and the business that uses pestcite ("you"). By using pestcite.com or app.pestcite.com you accept them.

What pestcite is

A weekly list of public health-inspection and license records near your territory, each with a link to the government record. A territory is a radius around a ZIP or a set of ZIPs inside Chicago or New York City.

A record is not a request for service, and a list is not a promise of any sale. The number of records changes from week to week, and some weeks are thin.

The records

They come from the cities' open data. We show them as published, and they can be late, wrong or change later.
Open the linked record before you act on it. If something looks wrong, use "Wrong record?" and we'll check it.
We are not affiliated with the City of Chicago, NYC Health or any government agency. The cities' own terms for their data still apply.

Trial, price and canceling

You start with a 14-day free trial, no card.
After that, pestcite costs $149/month per territory.
Founding price: the first 20 firms pay $79/month for 12 months.
Paid plans aren't open yet; until they are, your trial keeps its Monday email and downloads. Once they open, a trial that ends unpaid has its downloads locked and its Monday email stopped. You can still read your lists on the web.
Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe by Helios One Oy (business ID 3596623-5).
Paid plans renew each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the app, and your plan runs to the end of the month you paid for.
If our price changes, we'll email you at least a month before it applies to you.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep that inbox secure.
You're responsible for the people you invite and for what is done in your account.

How you may use it

Use the lists for your own business.
Don't resell or republish the lists, or share them outside your company.
Don't scrape or overload the service, or try to get around a lock.
When you contact a business, follow the law, including CAN-SPAM for email and the telemarketing rules for calls and texts, and describe the record accurately. Don't claim it shows more than it does. More on that: is it legal?

We own the pestcite software, site and our own writing. The government records belong to the public. What you send us stays yours, and we handle it as our privacy policy says.

Warranty and liability

pestcite is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and running, but we make no promise that it is free of errors or always available.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect damages, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the year before the claim.

Ending and changes

You can stop using pestcite at any time.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
If we ever close pestcite, we'll tell you thirty days ahead and refund the unused time you paid for.
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and email you first about any change that affects what you pay.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, where Helios One Oy is registered. Disputes go to the Helsinki District Court. Before that, write to us: most problems are solved by email.
